The first Prairie Lindy Exchange (Plex) arrived in Saskatoon March 11-13, 2005.  It started out of the need to bring the prairie Lindy scenes together. Soon after, the roaming Lindy Exchange tradition began. Plex has also taken place in Calgary, Edmonton, Winnipeg and Minneapolis. Plex 10 returned to Saskatoon for Plex’s five year anniversary in March 2010. Plex is an exchange owned by all the dancers from all the cities that have hosted it; Plex is a giant family reunion.

Plex was held twice a year until 2009 when it became an annual event. In 2010, in the basement of Winston’s pub in Saskatoon, the first Small Scene Summit took place. Going into its third year, the Small Scene Summit is a get together for scene organizers with the goal of strengthening building and strengthening the Lindy Hop community.

Prairie Lindy Exchanges have the reputation for being social, fun, relaxed and, at times, outrageous. The Sunday latenights are rumoured to be worth the price of admission alone. Plexes have drawn dancers from all over North America and as far away as Australia.
